The face of Brooklyn College is the face of the world—our students come from Toledo and Trinidad, from Flatbush and the Philippines. Some are relatively young, recent high school graduates, and others are working adults. Still others are graduate students who come to Brooklyn College for our world-class programs in education, creative writing, and film.
Perhaps most surprising is the fact that more than half of our students transfer from other colleges; the reason most often given is that Brooklyn College can provide a comparable or better education than many equivalent institutions, but at a lower cost.
As ethnically and culturally diverse as our students are, however, they all have one thing in common: the ambition to build successful careers and to lead rewarding and fulfilling lives. Student achievements at the College continue to grow both in number and in prestige.
