An Assistant Professor of Health and Nutrition Sciences, Clifford Rouder received a PSC-CUNY grant to assess, via focus groups research, the knowledge, attitudes and behaviors of residents in under-served Brooklyn communities related to New York City’s Green Carts initiative. The initiative enables vendors of these carts to sell only fresh fruits and vegetables in under-served communities with the short-term goal of increasing access to and consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables, and with the long term goal of improved health and reduced health care costs associated with poor dietary intake.
