    Assistant Professor in the School of Education, Jennifer Adams’s research has focused on place-based understandings of science in the Caribbean American Community in Brooklyn and New York City. She has also conducted research regarding the use of community-based institutions to help teach and learn science. She is currently a co-PI on the NSF-funded Brooklyn College City-as-Lab project that partners graduate students with public high schools to enact place-based science education. Adams has collaborated with the American Museum of Natural History, New York Hall of Science, Brooklyn Botanic Garden and the New York Harbor National Park Service.

    Psychologist, psychoanalyst and Professor of education at Brooklyn College, Carol Korn-Bursztyn is also a professor of urban education at the CUNY Graduate Center. She has conducted research and presented on children’s narratives of immigration. Korn-Bursztyn has also presented preliminary work from the Brooklyn Families pilot project.
