Brooklyn Neighborhood Reports

The Center for the Study of Brooklyn at Brooklyn College and the Brooklyn Community Foundation are pleased to release the first ever Brooklyn Neighborhood Reports.  Over 600 pages in total, each of the 19 new reports- one for each of the borough’s 18 Community Districts, and one for all of Brooklyn- include over 90 indicators that explore 9 different theme areas.  Accompanying Data Tables provide even greater detail, as will the forthcoming Data Notes. Read the official January 2012 launch announcement here

A list of report links can be found underneath the Brooklyn reference map below. Under each Community District (CD) and the list of neighborhoods are three links. The first link (Issuu) opens up a link to that CD’s report on Issuu, a digital publishing platform that allows users to read each Brooklyn Neighborhood Report on-line.  The second link (PDF) downloads a PDF version of each Brooklyn Neighborhood Report so that you can save it to your computer’s hard drive, and produce printed copies.  The final link (Data Tables) downloads a PDF of that CD’s accompanying Data Tables, which include exact counts, rates and/or percentages for each indicator, as well as endnotes with detailed data source citations.

Coming Soon- Data Notes

The Data Notes document will include comprehensive definitions of each indicator used in the Brooklyn Neighborhood Reports, the methodology for calculating that indicator (where applicable), and a ranking of the Brooklyn Community Districts with the highest and lowest counts, rates and/or percentages for the most recent year(s) for which those indicators were available. This document will also include detailed data source citations.
