http://www.healthcare.gov/, is an online portal to find insurance options for those who need insurance, and as a resource for those who want to shop around for new options, or to find out their new benefits under the new law.

http://www.healthcareandyou.org/ offers easy-to-understand information about the health care law, helping individuals make informed health care decisions for themselves and their families. The insurance plan finder at http://finder.healthcare.gov/ may help one in navigating available options.

Access NYC, https://a858-ihss.nyc.gov/ihss1/en_US/IHSS_homePage.do, is a free service identifies and screens more than 30 city, state, and federal human service benefit programs. You may use it anonymously or create an account if you wish to apply for programs online. NYC Health Insurance Link, https://a069-webapps7.nyc.gov/HealthInsLink/Free_LowCost.aspx, allows you to compare the costs & benefits of selected health insurance plans. The website also contains info on choosing an insurance plan, consumer protection, and insurance terms. It takes you to links for Health and Hospitals Corporation facilities, community and Department of Health centers, and other programs for mental health, dental, vision, and prescription drug assistance. National Eye Care Project

Medical eye care for US citizens and legal residents, age 65 and older. No financial qualifications. Referral service. Medicare or other health insurance will pay the cost of the care, if without insurance and in need of care, treatment will be provided at no charge.
