I am an historian, health policy analyst, and epidemiologist. My research has included: analysis of health services in New York City, the costs of funding health services for those with HIV AIDS, ethical issues raised by the HIV/AIDS epidemic for the private health insurance system in the U.S. I have written on the history of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the United States and South Africa, and the history of coronary heart disease epidemiology in the U.S.

I have expertise in the history of public health and medicine, with particular focus on the history of epidemiology, the history of public health in the United States in the 20th century, and the history of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the U.S. and South Africa.
