New Career Offerings for Financial Service Workers
The recent downturn in the financial services sector has left many people seeking new career options. The New York State Department of Labor, through the National Emergency Grants (NEG), will help former financial sector workers to obtain up to $12,500 for training in high demand occupations. NEF funding covers tuition, books, and fees. Brooklyn College Continuing Education is an eligible training provider for the NEG program, and is offering many courses and certificate programs leading to careers covered by the grant. They include:
- Renal Dialysis Technician
- Medical Coding and Billing
- Microsoft Office – Beginner and Advanced
- Bookkeeping
- Legal Assistant
- Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages
- Technical Writing
- Human Resources Management
