Voter Registration Initiative

The American Heritage Dictionary defines "voting" as the formal expression of a preference for a candidate for office or for a proposed resolution of an issue. Voting is the foundation upon which our democracy rests. Voting gives us the opportunity to express our concerns and values. Use your voice, and vote regularly!

Voter registration forms are available in 2110 and 2113 Boylan Hall, and most other Offices on campus.

Under the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) of 1993, the Office of Services for Students with Disabilities is an Agency-Based Registration Site, where students are offered the opportunity to become registered voters. Applications are available in Room 138 Roosevelt Hall. For more information please visit the State Board of Elections home page at www.elections.state.ny.us/voting.html.

In order to be eligible to register to vote you must be:

  • A U.S. citizen by birth or a naturalized U.S. citizen
  • At least 18 years of age and a New York resident for at least 30 days prior to the primary or general election 
  • Not currently in jail or on parole for a felony conviction
  • Not claim the right to vote elsewhere 
  • You must be registered approximately one (1) month prior to any election

You need to re-register, if any of the conditions below applies to you:

  • You have changed your address since the last time you voted or registered to vote
  • You wish to change your party affiliation
  • You have changed your name since last voting

Poll Worker Initiative

The Board of Elections is looking for students who can work as Inspectors or Interpreters on Eelection Day.
