Rules, Regulations, and Discipline

Discipline is a necessary accountability component of any community setting. Complaints involving students are investigated. If action is warranted, approaches taken can range from conciliation to a formal disciplinary hearing.

The student disciplinary process is outlined in the CUNY Bylaws, Article XV and will be used when investigating alleged violations of the Rules and Regulations for the Maintenance of Public Order and other College policies.  Visit Student Rights and College Regulations for a list of the most frequently requested Brooklyn College policies.  A policy binder is available for review (by appointment) in the Office of Student Affairs.

Students who have a complaint against another student may come to the office of the Dean of Student Affairs, 2113 Boylan Hall to speak to the Manager of Judicial Affairs and receive assistance. Students who have a complaint against a faculty member may visit the appropriate academic Dean:

Dean of Undergraduate Studies, 3208 Boylan Hall

Dean of Graduate Studies, 3238 Boylan Hall
