The Division of Graduate Studies at Brooklyn College was established in 1935 and offers the opportunity for scholarly research in more than seventy programs in the arts, education, humanities, sciences, and computer and social sciences. More than five hundred full-time faculty members, many of whom are outstanding scholars and acknowledged authorities in their fields, instruct, guide, and mentor our graduate students.
Brooklyn College offers its graduate students a wide array of services, including cutting-edge computing resources and research labs. The West End Building (WEB) computer lab has over 250 computers, and WiFi can be found throughout the campus. The library has over one million volumes, a large variety of electronic journals and research tools, and offers ongoing workshops in a large selection of software applications. The Library Café, open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, offers a sophisticated setting for coffee and computing. All our resources are geared to accommodate the busy lives of our graduate students, most of whom are working professionals.
Graduate students at Brooklyn College are connected to an even larger world of scholarship and expertise through the City University of New York Graduate Center and the other institutions in the CUNY system, one of the world’s largest universities. The boroughs of Brooklyn and nearby Manhattan are rich cultural resources themselves, and they add immeasurably to the Brooklyn College graduate-student experience.
