Book Talk: David Ruggles: A Radical Black Abolitionist and the Underground Railroad in New York City. 

DESCRIPTION: Noted historian Graham Hodges (Colgate University) will discuss his latest book--the first biography of David Ruggles, a leading African American activist, writer, publisher, and hydrotherapist who led more than 600 bond people to freedom, the most famous of whom was Frederick Douglass. Ruggles mentored leading black abolitionists including Douglass and Sojourner Truth. Book signing to follow talk.
