DESCRIPTION: Carole Paynter, senior attorney with the Federal Trade Commission–Northeast Region, will present an interactive forum on consumer fraud, focusing on identity theft and the steps you can take to guard against it. She will also share valuable tips on how to identify and avoid foreclosure rescue scams, a new type of fraud affecting distressed homeowners attempting to save their homes from foreclosure.
