| DESCRIPTION: | Social choice mechnisms are means by which groups decide issues, from whether or not to buy railroad stocks to deciding who sits in the Oval Office. But how well does the decision reached reflect the underlying sentiment of the electorate? How important is the individual voter in the decision-making process? Is there an ideal system for making consensus decisions? We will discuss the Mathematics underlying the action of casting a vote. | ||
