| TITLE: | Crossing Borders: Opening Reception |

| DESCRIPTION: | Lenny Silverberg class of '62 will be showing drawings, watercolors and other works on paper at the Brooklyn College Library Gallery from March 9th to May 6th 2011. Featured will be art from the book Crossing Borders done in collaboration with poet Steve Kowit class of '64 and published by Spuyten Duyvil Press. The art and poems in the book addresses the international epidemic of refugees-chronic, involuntary global nomadism caused by tribal, racial, religious and political issues. Silverberg's rendering of the eternal refugee has been characterized as hauntingly expressive and the art critic Robbie Conal has called Silverberg "The most soulful, most intractable painter of interchangeable suffering I know." |
