What’s In Your Brown Bag? |
| DESCRIPTION: |
According to the Mayo Clinic, a recent study of more than 1.5 million healthy adults has shown that sticking to the traditional Mediterranean diet reduces the risk of both heart disease and cancer and is associated with reduced incidence of Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases.
Join us for a seminar that will introduce us to the key components of this diet and suggest ways to incorporate them into our daily diets.
Roseanne Schnoll, PhD, RD, CDN, is an Associate Professor in the Health and Nutrition Sciences department at Brooklyn College. She is also a registered dietitian and certified dietitian nutritionist. Professor Schnoll will discuss specific dietary strategies to optimize health, focusing on foods that have been studied recently for their disease prevention properties. |
