| TITLE: | Social Justice for Children: To End Child Abuse & Violence Against Children |

| DESCRIPTION: | This Friday, Nov. 4 the Children's Studies Center for Research, Policy and Public Service at Brooklyn College will host a national consultation with policymakers and researchers from around the country to discuss an end to child abuse and violence against children. Participants will discuss recent findings from neuroscience, the social sciences and public health; the role of the courts and the judiciary; child advocacy and protection; and new policies and legislatives. Distingushed guests will include: Keynote speaker Phelan Wyrick, senior advisor to the U.S Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Justice Programs; Brooklyn DA Charles Hynes; Assemblyman William Scarborough; Senator Diane Savino; Assemblywoman Barbara Clark; Assemblywoman Ellen Jaffee; Assemblywoman Margaret Markey; Assemblywoman Amy Paulin | ||
