Brooklyn College AIDS Quilt Display |
| DESCRIPTION: |
The Brooklyn College AIDS Quilt was created in the year 2000. It was the brainchild of a BC student, affiliated with AMSA (American Medical Students Association). The thought behind this project was to make our very own BC AIDS Remembrance Quilt, to be showcased every year in memory of those affected by AIDS. The Health Programs provided the materials but the design of each panel was left to the imagination of the participating group, to reflect the particular message or drawing it wished to portray. The excitement and creativity was overwhelming. Finally, twenty-one panels were submitted and the result was a quilt about 20x20' that individually and collectively expressed very personal and meaningful message of painful memories, but also of hope. |
