| DESCRIPTION: |
Sefi Atta
was born in Lagos, Nigeria. She trained as an accountant in London and began to write while
working in New York. In 2001, she graduated with an MFA from Antioch University, Los Angeles, and
currently lives in Mississippi. Her works have appeared in journals such as
Mississippi Review, Los Angeles
Review
, and have won prizes from Zoetrope, Red Hen Press, the BBC and PEN International. In 2006
she was short listed for the Caine Prize for African Literature and her debut novel,
Everything Good Will
Come,
was awarded the Wole Soyinka Prize for Literature in Africa. |
