| TITLE: | Film Screening: "The Last Stage" |

| DESCRIPTION: | The college community is invited to a screening of one of the earliest cinematic attempts to portray the Nazi camp called Auschwitz. "The Last Stage" (Poland, 1948) was written and directed by Wanda Jakubowska, a former prisoner at Auschwitz who filmed there on location. The film depicts the experience of Jewish, Polish, Russian and other women imprisoned at Auschwitz. The screening is arranged in association with Judaic Studies 53.5 "Literature of the Holocaust" and will be introduced by Prof. Robert M. Shapiro. Discussion follows the movie. | ||
