Sustainability Notes #3
Thursday, December 13, 2007
12:00-1:00 pm
Room 2127 Ingersoll Hall
Brooklyn College
Across the U. S. and around the world, communities are beginning to recognize that current technological and social practices are unsustainable. Ultimately, humans must wean themselves from nonrenewable resources, reduce their impact on the environment, and alter their institutions to guarantee a healthy world will be delivered to future generations.
Brooklyn College faculty are helping to build the means to these ends. You are invited to learn more about their ongoing research at this series of short, non-technical presentations.
This session will include:
Gold to Green: Green Chemistry by Using Gold Catalysts in Chemical Syntheses
Prof. Maria Contel, Department of Chemistry
Re-Conceiving Human Being – Nature Transactions: The Legacy and Tasks of the American Philosophical Tradition
Prof. Daniel Campos, Department of Philosophy
The Distributional Dimensions of Sustainability
Prof. Kenneth Gould, Department of Sociology
If you have any questions, please contact:
