Brooklyn College Sustainability Plan background information:
The City University of New York (CUNY) is dedicated to minimizing its ecological impact and promoting a culture of sustainability throughout our community. As part of the CUNY-mandated Sustainability Initiative, Brooklyn College is working to incorporate environmental awareness into the fabric of our college by integrating sustainability into our curriculum, facilities and campus life. In order to reach our goal of reducing our environmental impact by 30% over the next 10 years, we need the input of as many Brooklyn College faculty, staff and students as possible!
Over the next several months, the Center for the Study of Brooklyn (as part of its EcoBrooklyn Initiative) and the Brooklyn College Sustainability Council are convening a series of visioning sessions with Brooklyn College staff, faculty and students to set goals and identify action steps in the areas of: Water and Energy; Transportation; Waste Management; Procurement; Food, Health and Nutrition; and Education and Outreach. Be on the look-out for future invitations to visioning sessions!
