Memoirs of a Jewminicana: Blending American, Dominican, Jewish, and Gender Identities |
| DESCRIPTION: |
Aliza Hausman will speak and respond to questions.
Aliza Hausman, a fascinating and brilliant young author of Dominican background, born and raised in Washington Heights, left home as a teenager to embark on a journey of identity. Now in her late 20s, she has a remarkable sense of what it means to have an identity and to choose how to construct one’s own identity.
Aliza Hausman crosses many boundaries: Dominican, of color, Orthodox Jewish, feminist, a writer and speaker. Married to a rabbinical student at Yeshiva University, she resides in Riverdale in the Bronx. Aliza Hausman is provocative, energetic, creative, observant and positive. To learn more about her, see http://www.alizahausman.net/.
