About the Adult Literacy Program

Whether you need to learn to read, get your High School Equivalency (HSE), or improve your English, our friendly and professional staff is here to answer any questions you may have about our program and its classes. New York State is no longer giving the GED® test. TASC™ (Test for Assessing Secondary Completion) is the exam needed to receive a New York State High School Equivalency (NYS HSE) diploma. Many people ask, "Where can I get my GED?" In New York, you earn your diploma ("GED") by passing the TASC test. The Brooklyn College Adult Literacy Program offers great classes for free to help you do so.

Browse our website for information about our program requirements, upcoming registration dates and student resources. If you have any questions or would like to speak with a Brooklyn College Adult Literacy representative, call 718.951.4117 or e-mail us during regular business hours.
