Transfer Evaluations Office for Undergraduates
The mission of the Transfer Evaluations Office is to provide undergraduate transfer students with a seamless transition to Brooklyn College by collaborating with various departments on campus, including the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, the Center for Academic Advisement and Student Success (CAASS), Peer Mentoring (TransferNation), the Office of the Registrar, the Office of Financial Aid, and the Magner Career Center. The office processes all transfer credits for courses taken prior to attending Brooklyn College, including AP, IB, CLEP, and college courses taken while still in high school. It also serves as a liaison to all academic departments to assist faculty with evaluating transfer credits.
Upon acceptance to Brooklyn College, transfer students will receive an e-mail that will inform them to view their Transfer Credit Report (TCR) on CUNYfirst in the Student Center. The TCR will list all courses from prior colleges and the Brooklyn College equivalents. New freshmen, however, will receive a TCR once enrolled. Be sure to have transcripts sent to the Transfer Evaluations Office. In some cases, students may be required to submit course descriptions and/or syllabi to an academic department for review by the transfer academic evaluator. See "Important Forms" below for step-by-step procedures explaining how to have these courses evaluated.
If you are transferring from another CUNY college, consult CUNYfirst in your Student Center with "Evaluated My Transfer Credit" for transfer course equivalencies. For all other colleges and universities, use the BC Transfer Credit Tool.
The Articulation Agreements webpage contains more information regarding Articulation Agreements between Brooklyn College and our partner institutions.
