Dr. Andrew Sillen was named vice president for institutional advancement and executive director of the Brooklyn College Foundation in 2005. He holds a B.A. in anthropology from Brooklyn College, and both an M.A. and Ph.D. in anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania.

The vice president for institutional advancement is responsible for external private support for the college and the management of the Brooklyn College Foundation. He is also responsible for alumni relations, coordinating alumni events, alumni communications, chapter meetings and the board of the Brooklyn College Alumni Association.
