The Office of the Bursar offers multiple ways to submit your payments.

Nelnet Monthly Payment Plan

Brooklyn College offers a monthly tuition payment plan via Nelnet that breaks down your total tuition balance for the upcoming semester into several payment installments.

How to Enroll

  1. Log in to your CUNYfirst account and select the Student Center tile.
  2. Select the Financial Accounts tile, then select Payment Plan in the menu on the left.
  3. Turn off your pop-up blocker to be redirected to the Nelnet/Quikpay website.
  4. On Quikpay, select “Payment Plan” and choose the current term payment plan option.
  5. Complete the budget worksheet including your total balance and pending aid (if applicable).
  6. Follow prompts to fill in your payment information.
  7. Review the installment schedule, then complete enrollment by agreeing/confirming enrollment in the payment plan.

Enroll Early

  • There is no payment plan for the winter intersession. However, you may combine your winter and spring balances into a spring payment plan.
  • Successful enrollment in the payment plan will prevent the risk of course cancellation.
  • There is a nonrefundable enrollment fee of $25 for each semester the payment plan is used.
  • Nelnet will charge nonrefundable 2.65% Service Fee for all credit/debit card payments.
  • Installment payments are automatically charged/withdrawn on the scheduled payment installment date.
  • The earlier you enroll, the lower each installment payment will be. The tables below shows the payment plan enrollment schedule:

Notes

  • Automatic payments are charged/withdrawn on the fifth day of each month after the plan is activated with your first installment/down payment being charged the day you enroll in the payment plan.
  • Any change in your financial obligation to Brooklyn College will change your total payment plan balance and remaining monthly payment amounts. This includes if a portion of your balance is not accounted for in your initial budget worksheet.
  • If the enrollment fee is returned for any reason, the agreement will be terminated.
  • All credit/debit card or eCheck/ACH payments that are returned will be subject to a returned payment fee of $30 per occurrence of returned payment.

Payment options

One-Time Online Payment (via eCheck or Credit/Debit Card)

How to submit a one-time online payment via CUNYfirst:

  • Log in to your CUNYfirst account and select the Student Center tile.
  • Select the Financial Accounts tile, then select Payment Plan in the menu on the left.
  • Make sure your pop-up blocker is disabled.
  • On Quikpay, select View and Pay Accounts on the menu on the left.
  • Select the “Make a Payment” button at the top or View Brooklyn College Details.
  • You will see a screen that displays all of the CUNY schools (past and present) associated with your EMPLID. Next to each school will be a payment amount box along with a check box.
    • Since each school is listed, each payment amount box either will be populated with a dollar amount if you owe money to that school, or will be blank if nothing is owed.
    • You can choose to pay the entire amount in the payment amount box. Or you can choose to override the pre-populated amount and enter the amount you wish to pay in the payment amount box next to the school you want to pay.
    • Select the Payment Method in the drop down menu (eCheck or Credit Card) and follow the remaining payment information prompts:
      • There is no fee for using the eCheck option
      • There is a nonrefundable 2.65% service fee (of the payment amount) charged for a credit/debit card payment.
  • After you enter your payment method information you will see a screen asking: “Is this information correct?” Before you finalize your payment, review your payment information to:
    • Make sure you are only sending money to a school where you have outstanding charges.
    • Confirm the amount.
    • If the information is wrong, cancel and start over.

By Mail

If you wish to pay tuition by mail, obtain a copy of your bill from CUNYfirst. Send a copy of your bill with a check or money order made payable to Brooklyn College to:

Be sure to include your full name, semester for which you are paying, and your CUNYfirst EMPLID number on the check or money order. Allow five to 10 business days for the receipt and processing of all mailed payments.

Wire Transfer Payments

For instructions regarding payment submission by wire transfer, contact the Office of the Bursar via phone, 718.951.5200, or e-mail. When submitting a wire payment, ensure that your name and EMPLID are included, and that the payment does not exceed your total tuition amount. For wire transfer payments received in excess of the tuition balance, any excess payment amount will be returned to the issuing bank.

In Person

In-person payments can only be accepted when cashiering services are available, Mondays through Fridays, 9 a.m.–4:45 p.m. Note that the cashiering services will be available from 10 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. on days when the college is open but classes are not in session. To submit payments in person, come to the Enrollment Services Center in the lobby of the West Quad Center and take a ticket for Bursar/Payment Services. These payment methods are accepted in person:

  • Cash
  • Check
  • Money order

Credit cards are not accepted in person. International check payments can be subject to additional processing fees; therefore, Brooklyn College does not receive the payment amount indicated on the check.

International payments are accepted online via your CUNYfirst account on Quikpay/Nelnet

  • Access your CUNYfirst account:
    • Log in to your CUNYfirst account and select Student Center.
    • Select the Financial Accounts Tile and select Make a Payment.
    • Ensure your pop-up blocker disabled for the CUNYfirst site.
  • Enter details:
    • On Quikpay, select View and Pay Accounts on the left.
    • Enter the payment amount and select International Payment from the drop-down menu.
  • Get quote:
    • Choose the country you’re paying from and enter payment details and select your preferred payment method.
  • Make a payment:
    • Online: Select from a variety of providers including AliPay, SOFORT, Unionpay, POLIpayments, WeChat Pay, iDeal, and Trustly.
    • Bank transfer: receive payment instructions that you can use online.
    • In-person: receive payment instructions that you can take directly to your bank for easy processing.
  • Once your payment is made, track it online or via text message updates.
