New York City Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (NYC-LSAMP)
The New York City- Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) Program in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) is an alliance of 16 colleges in the City University of New York (CUNY) and the CUNY Graduate Center. From its inception in 1992, the NYC-LSAMP Program has been at the forefront of a concerted effort to substantially increase the number of underrepresented minority students who enroll and graduate with baccalaureate degrees in STEM disciplines in CUNY. LSAMP aims to ensure a long-term capacity to produce significantly greater numbers of minority students in STEM careers through lasting changes achieved in participating institutions. The program provides academic scholarship support to CUNY students that meet the eligibility requirements and conduct research in STEM fields with full-time faculty members, making research an integral part of STEM education in New York City
