Summer Program

The RISE Pre-Freshman Summer Program is designed to help students entering college in the fall. The purpose of the summer program is to provide students with additional assistance to make for a smoother transition from high school to college.

The RISE Summer Program's focus is on academic support in areas such as math, science and study skills. Students also learn expectations for college work and college life. They get a better understanding of science education, careers and research. They learn to develop resources on campus and utilize the library, computer center and career center, etc. effectively. Students also learn where to go to solve problems such as financial aid, registration issues, health, and other student issues. There are also fun activities such as social events designed to introduce incoming freshman to other students on campus and trips off campus to activities in and around New York.

Students are given a stipend for participating in the summer program.

Here is a sample of the six-week Summer Program for 2010.
