The Magner Career Center offers several options for students to improve their résumé, including:
- Résumé Review Guide to help you get started on writing your resume.
- Drop-in hours during the week for students to stop by for one-on-one résumé review,
- Appointments to help tailor a résumé and cover letter for a specific job or internship position, and
- Any résumés sent in through HireBC are reviewed by our counselors and accepted or sent back with feedback.
Résumé Review Guide
In order to get the best out of you résumé review session, we strongly encourage you to check out our Quick Reference Résumé Review Guide (pdf) for quick but effective guidelines to improve your résumé. Our guide includes examples of résumés for different majors to help students tailor their résumés to the jobs in their desired field. Making sure your résumé fits these guidelines will ensure you get optimal time to go over content and get the most out of your review session.
Drop-in Hours for Résumé Review and Approval
Monday: 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Tuesday: 3:30 – 4:30 p.m., 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday: 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. (late night only during fall and spring semesters)
Thursday: 3 – 4:30 p.m.
