Preparatory Center for the Performing Arts
Junior Concerto Competition winner Altai Ozkan performs with the Preparatory Center Junior Orchestra
From its beginning in 1978, the Preparatory Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College has provided an exciting, nurturing environment where children can develop a lifelong love for music, theater and dance. Skills developed in arts study promote confidence and self-esteem, traits essential for any path taken in life. The members of the faculty understand that each child has a unique background and approach to learning and strive to develop the child's potential to its fullest. The Prep Center staff work with parents to advise them about the best course of study for their children. The Prep Center offers programs and classes for children ages 3 to 18.
Adults have the opportunity to receive private instrumental, vocal or dance instruction at beginning to advanced levels. The Prep Center offers special classes for adults in select semesters.
