Tiphanie Gonzalez is assistant professor of school counseling in the Department of School Psychology, Counseling and Leadership. Gonzalez is an active member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), American School Counseling Association (ASCA), Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development (AMCD), Association for Specialists in Group Work (ASGW), Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES), the North Atlantic Regional Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (NARACES), Chi Sigma Iota and the National Association for Holmes Scholar Alumni (NAHSA).

Areas of Expertise:
Professor Gonzalez actively contributes to the research and literature in the counseling field through her writings and as a presenter at conferences both regionally and nationally. Her research interests include working with at-risk (or at-promise) inner-city youth, especially through the use of hip-hop music and hip-hop culture, the use of technology in counseling and counselor training, school counseling, and career and academic counseling in urban communities.
