Lawrence Johnson joined the faculty at Brooklyn College in fall 2012. His courses emphasize the attainment and application of empirical knowledge and subjective realities to explore our social world. Scholarly areas of interest include, but are not limited to, issues of social inequality in general and racial inequality specifically. Previous and current research focus on a racial formation understanding of colorblind racism and post-racial discourse among black elected officials.
