Laura Blitzer, PhD, has taught in varied settings and across grade levels from pre-K to Graduate programs. She is a student of Chinese medicine and Eastern health practices, folding this information into her teaching and classroom practices. She co-authored several studies that examine the potential applications of complementary alternative medicine and healthcare practices with HIV/AIDS and clinically depressed populations. She has been responsible for undergraduate and graduate program development and accreditation in Physical Education. Teaching courses in physical education methods and practice, health and wellness, and social foundations of education, she has been the recipient of multiple Excellence in Teaching Awards and has been awarded several research grants. Dr. Blitzer has a strong record of service to the university, community, and public schools and serves on State committees and is a reviewer for several national journals and conferences.
