Neil Malvone discovered his passion for teaching after a lifelong pursuit of education and knowledge. Combining his business skills with a love of sports, he found a perfect match teaching graduate level courses in the sports management program. As the only sport management-educated full-time professor in the department, he has adapted the courses into a business-related curriculum. He combines experiential learning and dynamic classroom participation to create an interactive and engaged learning environment. Teaching 9 different courses, he fosters a commitment to a lifetime of learning beyond the classroom. Neil espouses to the maxim "Go into the world and do well. But more importantly, go into the world and do good." Neil instills this adage to his students as they relate business interests with corporate social responsibility. Neil believes that sport can change society and finds inspiration in Jackie Robinson who showed how sport can change the way society thinks and acts.
