Areas of Expertise:
Gura studies literature through the medium of performance, which embodies and evokes texts in unique ways. Moreover, those evocations uniquely reflect the insight of the performer for, by discovering the intricacies of the text and finding the behaviors which embody those intricacies, students learn much about themselves and the audiences for whom they perform. Performance carries the potential for engaging human beings in the most annealing act of which we are capable: the act of understanding.
