As a founder of the Manhattan Theatre Club, Thomas Bullard directed numerous productions, including Athol Fugard's Statements After an Arrest Under the Immorality Act(OBIE Award-Outstanding Direction), the world premiere of Stephen Metcalfe's Strange Snow,and Richard Wesley's The Last Street Play, starring Morgan Freeman (AUDELCO Award-Outstanding Production). He has directed at many national resident theaters, including the Actors Theatre of Louisville, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Old Globe Theatre, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Goodman Theatre, Cincinnati Playhouse, Alley Theater, Syracuse Stage, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Dallas Shakespeare Festival, Philadelphia Drama Guild, Walnut Street Theatre and Coconut Grove Playhouse. New York venues include The Public Theatre, Signature Theatre, Ensemble Studio Theatre, Primary Stages and 78th Street Theatre Lab. Bullard is head of graduate directing.
