Student scientists hold life in their hands.

When the study of living matter becomes your life, you’re ready for the next step in your education.

You have successfully laid the groundwork for an exciting and rewarding career in the field of biology, and you’re eager to move to the next level. Our master’s degree program includes lectures, colloquia, seminars, laboratory work and fieldwork in the vast array of biological sciences that will expand your knowledge and sharpen your skills. You’ll conduct your thesis research in one of our many laboratories, where faculty and students study cell, molecular, developmental and behavioral biology side by side. Some of our students qualify for fellowships, and others may be elected to Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Society, but all of our students, upon completing of their master’s degree, will be fully prepared to make a profound difference in labs at pharmaceutical companies, government agencies, private industries and research institutions around the world.
