Childhood Education Teacher (1-6)

Rise to the challenge of teaching.

You love children, and you’re blessed with an abundance of energy and patience. So, naturally, your calling is childhood education. Our graduate program trains teachers to work magic in first- through sixth-grade classrooms. You’ll be able to choose from four concentrations: liberal arts, math, science or bilingual education. Within each track, we’ll guide you through the ins-and-outs of teaching this sensitive age group. Our program’s orientation toward schooling and education will develop your commitment to the highest standards of academic quality in both your learning experiences at Brooklyn College and your teaching experiences when you’re on the other side of the desk.

I love the 'aha’ moments: When students report that they tried something we have discussed in class with their own students and that it worked really well, or they’ve made a connection between theory and practice. Those moments are grand.
