Childhood Education Teacher (1–6)

Instill the thrill of knowledge in young minds.

As a childhood education major, you’re preparing for a career guiding children through some of their first explorations of the realms of knowledge. Showing children their learning potential is a rewarding experience that will profoundly shape the rest of their lives. In our program, you will gain the skills you need to work with children in grades one to six and will choose a discipline that particularly interests you to specialize in. Our program extends your education outside the campus: You’ll have the chance to work in New York City classrooms. Upon graduation, you will have earned a provisional New York State teacher certification.

The childhood education program provides hope and encouragement for prospective teachers in their becoming the new generation of effective and inspirational educators.
