Theater

The play’s the thing for you.

Nothing makes you feel more alive than working in the theater! You need to be a part of it — performing in a great play, directing a film or a theatrical production, designing scenery or costumes, managing a production company. When you become a student in the Theater Department, you will be enrolled in one of the metropolitan area’s most respected programs. You will study every aspect of the craft — acting, voice, movement, improvisation, stage combat and directing. Backstage skills such as stagecraft, stage design, costume design, lighting design, stage management, performing arts management and world theater history will give you a well-rounded perspective on your craft. By the time you graduate, you will have all the tools and theatrical experience to begin a rewarding career.

I’m really passionate about theater, and at Brooklyn College I found that the faculty gave me the confidence I was really missing to be a better actress.
