ECAE 7013T Children's Temperament and Behavior Problems

Dynamic aspects of temperament and personality development in early childhood. Children's emotional and behavior problems in the family home and school environment. Clinical methods in diagnosing and treating young children with difficult temperaments and with emotional and behavioral difficulties. Study and evaluation of typical case materials. Early childhood teacher's role in understanding and dealing with young children with difficult temperaments and behavior challenges.

Prerequisite: a course or courses in learning, evaluation, and mental health.
