What is the Advanced Certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs) Program?
The advanced certificate in ASDs is an interdisciplinary, collaborative program offered by Brooklyn College. It is a one-year graduate program where students will develop skills in research-based approaches such as applied behavioral analysis, natural learning paradigms, and developmental social-pragmatic approaches to work with children with ASD.

How long is the program? What is the course sequence of the program?
The program is one year long. Students will be taking two courses in the fall, two courses in the spring and one course in the summer - a total of 15 credits.

Students will take 5 courses worth 3 credits for a total of 15 credits. These courses include:
- Fall: CASD 7317X: Introduction to Autism Spectrum Disorders, CBSE 7666T: Special Issues in Education: Classroom and School-Wide Learning Environments
- Spring: CASD 7319X: Speech, Language, and Communication Development of Individuals on the Autism Spectrum, CBSE 7691T: Classroom Organization, Management, and Curriculum Modifications for Teaching Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (offered in spring)
- Summer I (June): CBSE 7682T: Seminar in Teaching Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders
