For more than 25 years, Jeanne Angus has been involved with children with special needs and their families, focusing on human development and neuropsychological assessment. Beginning with a degree in early childhood education from the University of Vermont, she worked at Boston Children's Hospital as a play therapist. She returned to school to become a physician's assistant working with adolescents and pregnancy. After earning her counseling master's, she worked in the New York City public and private schools. Since earning her doctorate, she has focused her work on individuals with autism spectrum disorders. She has been a guest lecturer at Columbia Teachers College, New York University, Hunter College and various professional meetings. She has published children's books and is presently writing a book based upon therapeutic case histories from her work. At Brooklyn College she has focused on special education, heading up the graduate program for special education.
