Adjunct Lecturer, Oboe
Robert Ingliss is principal oboe of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, and in 2010 he will be returning for his sixth season as first oboist with the Santa Fe Opera Orchestra. Ingliss tours worldwide with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, with whom he has appeared as soloist on several occasions. He plays principal oboe with the Riverside Symphony and the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic and has occupied the same position with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and the Mexico City Philharmonic.
Ingliss is a member of An die Musik (oboe, strings and piano), and has appeared at the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, the Monadnock Music Festival and the Adam Chamber Music Festival in New Zealand, among others. An avid proponent of contemporary music, he has premiered works by composers such as Babbitt, Carter, Dalbavie, Eckardt and so on, and he is a member of Cygnus Ensemble, Ensemble 21 and the Manhattan Sinfonietta. His recording credits are numerous, as are his performances on soundtracks for film and television. In addition to the conservatory, Ingliss is on the faculties of Columbia University, Sarah Lawrence College, SUNY-Purchase and Montclair State University.
