The Conservatory of Music is pleased to announce two new graduate music performance Professional Studies programs, the Advanced Certificate in Music Performance (ACMP) — “pre-master’s” (bachelor’s degree in music or equivalent and successful audition required for entrance) — and the Advanced Diploma in Music Performance (ADMP) — “post-master’s” (master’s degree in music or equivalent and high-quality audition required for entrance). These two new music graduate programs tie in and work closely with the Conservatory’s existing M.Mus.-Music Performance program. The programs offer a select group of highly qualified instrumentalists and vocalists* the opportunity to further develop their performance skills and broaden their growth as musicians by pursuing a course of study where the focus is exclusively on performance. At the same time, the Conservatory is expanding and elevating the caliber of its student population on the pre-master’s and pre-doctoral levels. Each of the programs is offered as either a one-year 15-credit option or a two-year 30-credit option, thus providing flexibility to suit each candidate’s personal needs and career goals. Each semester students will study new, more advanced repertoire for their particular instrument or voice, with a performance jury examination in the first and third terms and a faculty-approved public recital in the second and fourth terms. In addition, each semester the student will perform in one large and one chamber ensemble as well as take a course on their instrument’s/voice’s repertory. Prospective students interested in pursuing one of these degrees should e-mail program adviser Professor Alexandra Lewis.

*Please note that there is a very limited number of openings for voice in the Advanced Diploma program.
