Tobie S. Stein is the director of the graduate program in performing arts management. She is the author of three books: Performing Arts Management: A Handbook of Professional Practices (co-authored with Jessica Bathurst; Allworth Press (2008), second printing 2012; Boston's Colonial Theatre: Celebrating a Century of Theatrical Vision (Colonial Theatre, 2000); and Workforce Transitions From the Profit to the Nonprofit Sector (Kluwer Press 2002). Her articles/podcast, focusing on executive coaching, workforce development, career transition and diversity, have appeared on the Foundation Center Philanthropy Chat website and in the Journal of Arts Management, Law and Society, National Business Employment Weekly, New York Newsday and The Wall Street Journal. Her work has been profiled/reviewed in TD&T, American Theatre, DramaBiz, Variety, Boston Globe, Boston Herald and Boston's Playbill.
