Stephen Winter is an award-winning filmmaker and writer. His 2015 feature film Jason and Shirley premiered at BAMCinemaFest; was called “one of the year’s finest” by Richard Brody (The New Yorker) and enjoyed a 2 week run at the Museum of Modern Art. His critically acclaimed Webby-losing series Adventures in New America (an afrofuturistic polyglot sci-fi political satire), premiered 2018 on the Night Vale Network and was compared by The New York Times to Jordan Peele and Boots Riley, “The Best New Social Thriller is a Podcast.” Stephen has worked on most of the films of Lee Daniels, John Cameron Mitchell, David France, and Xan Cassavetes. His debut Chocolate Babies premiered 1996 at Berlin and is currently being rediscovered.
