Conservatory of Music
A world without music is unimaginable to you.
Your talents as a vocalist or guitarist, composer or pianist, prevent you from even considering the absence of dulcet sounds. At Brooklyn College, we'll hone your musical skills to ensure that the world always has something wonderful to listen to. You'll be exposed to a unique international perspective by our distinguished, award-winning faculty and prestigious roster of guest artists from around the world — Argentina, Bulgaria and China, to name just a few — as well as Brooklyn. Performance is a major part of your studies, and you will have plenty of opportunities to display your talents: Students and faculty members participate in more than 150 concerts every year in our brass, guitar, jazz, percussion and wind ensembles; chorale and chamber choir; Opera Theater; and Conservatory Orchestra. In addition to multiple performance spaces, you'll have access to such facilities as our Institute for Studies in American Music, Center for Computer Music and specialized music library. A highly regarded degree in music from Brooklyn College is your first step toward becoming the next great performer, composer, conductor, musicologist or music educator.
