Origin, early development, and history of jazz to the present. Required reading and listening. Not open to students who completed Music 20.4. This course is the same as Africana Studies 3237 [24.35].
Prerequisite: Core Studies 2.2 or Core Curriculum 1130 [1.3] or permission of the director.
