Directing Fiction
The Department of Television and Radio's curriculum has incorporated writing, directing, and producing fiction in many of its courses. There are guided opportunities to study and practice: Directing Actors, Production Design, Shot Composition, Cinematography, Sound and Editing of Fictional Stories—all aimed at effectively communicating ideas and feelings, and characters and their journeys through various means of production. Students are encouraged to create fiction projects in the course of several semesters. Many of our M.F.A. students chose to write, direct, and produce a 30-minute drama as their final M.F.A. production that is broadcast on CUNY TV.
